At New Federal Theatre, our classes are launchpads for artists who dare to challenge, transform, and inspire. Rooted in a rich legacy of nurturing trailblazers, NFT offers a dynamic range of acting and playwriting workshops for all levels, led by acclaimed instructors. These classes are career catalysts—designed to amplify underrepresented voices and shape the future of theatre from the ground up.

Our Classes

ADVANCED ACTING TECHNIQUES

Designed for actors with prior training or stage experience, Advanced Acting is a rigorous workshop focused on character development, scene study, and emotional authenticity. With a mix of monologue work, partner scenes, and in-depth coaching, participants push past performance habits to uncover deeper artistic choices.

SCENE STUDY AND MONOLOGUES FOR PROFESSIONALS

Class is designed for the advanced actor, working, between jobs or ongoing development. Text deconstruction, character analysis, audition coaching, the art of rehearsing and vocal and physical self-awareness explorations. Two semesters of 25, three-hour sessions that meet once a week and conclude in a public showcase performance. Nora Cole is a veteran performing artist of Broadway, off-Broadway, regional, national and international theatre, and a director and writer.
